These are electronic muffs for smaller heads: young shooters and adults whose heads float in a standard muff. The cups are slim and low-profile, so they sit with safety glasses and leave room for a stock.
Sound is raised so a coach can talk to the shooter, and loud noise is cut off. The rating is NRR 23 dB, two AAA cells power them, and you can choose gel pads.
Every kids & youth model sits in the PROHEAR lineup; the numbers on this page come from the model’s own box and spec sheet.

How much noise does the PROHEAR Youth Electronic Earmuffs block?
Its Noise Reduction Rating is 23 dB, measured in a lab to ANSI S3.19-1974. On a real head a muff usually blocks less than the lab figure: OSHA subtracts 7 dB from the NRR when noise is measured in dBA, and NIOSH now recommends checking the protection each wearer actually gets. Our NRR guide walks through both.
Can you hear people talk while wearing the PROHEAR Youth Electronic Earmuffs?
Yes, that is what the electronics are for: microphones on the cups raise quiet sounds up to 4x, and a loud impulse such as a shot is cut off before it reaches the speaker.
What batteries does the PROHEAR Youth Electronic Earmuffs take?
2 AAA batteries. They are not in the box.
What ages is the PROHEAR Youth Electronic Earmuffs for?
It is sized for children: the band adjusts and the cups are small. Check the fit around the ears before a loud event, with no hair or hat under the cushions.
