About PROHEAR
PROHEAR makes hearing protection and the parts that keep it working. We have done it for 16 years.
What we make
Earmuffs, mostly. Passive muffs for the range and the yard, electronic muffs that let voices through and stop the shot, Bluetooth and AM/FM radio muffs for long shifts, small muffs for kids and three sizes for dogs. Around them: gel and foam ear pads, headset covers, a belt holder, helmet adapters and walkie-talkie modules.
Our model numbers are printed on the products and in their names: 016, 030, 033, 037, GEP02. If you own one of ours, that number is how you find its pads and its page here.
The number on the box
A hearing protector does one job, and the US label measures it: the Noise Reduction Rating. Read it before the color and the price, because a higher NRR means more noise stopped on paper. Where a model has only the European SNR, that is the figure you will see, under its own name.
The number is a lab figure. Our NRR guide explains how OSHA reads it and why NIOSH now recommends checking the fit of each wearer.
Parts for other makers’ earmuffs
Cushions wear out long before cups do. That is why some of our best-rated products are pads for earmuffs we did not make: GEP01 for 3M PELTOR headsets, GEP02 for Howard Leight Impact Sport, GEP03 for Walker’s Razor. They are ours; the muffs they fit are not, and each pad page says which models it fits.
How to buy
You choose here and buy with our retail partner, where payment, delivery and returns are handled at checkout. Prices and ratings on this site come from our last catalog update; the method page says how often we update them.

About PROHEAR: questions
What is PROHEAR?
A hearing protection brand: earmuffs for shooting, work, kids and dogs, plus ear pads and add-ons. PROHEAR has made hearing protection since 2010.
How long has PROHEAR been around?
Since 2010, 16 years.
What do the PROHEAR model numbers mean?
They name the line: 016 is our slim passive muff, 030 the Bluetooth range muff, 033 the radio muff, GEP02 a gel pad set. The number is printed on the product and in its name here.
Is PROHEAR related to Pro Ears or other brands with similar names?
No. PROHEAR is its own brand. Our pads fit some other makers’ earmuffs, and those pages name the models they fit.
