Editorial Policy
The guides and blog posts here are written by the PROHEAR team for people choosing hearing protection. They explain what the numbers on a package mean and how the public agencies suggest using them.
Sources
We read the agency pages ourselves before citing them: the EPA rule on the NRR label, OSHA's noise standard, NIOSH criteria and fact sheets, CDC and NIDCD pages on noise-induced hearing loss. Every guide lists the pages it relies on and the date we read them. When an agency gives a range, we print the range.
What we print about a model
The noise rating printed for that model, its power source, the Bluetooth version and the battery size stated for it, its colors and packs. If a figure is not stated for a model, the page does not guess it.
What we leave out
We do not promise that a model prevents hearing loss, cures anything or calms a child or a dog. We do not invent reviews, awards or test results. Star ratings are the ones shoppers gave each model at our retail partner, shown as totals.
Corrections
If a page gets a figure wrong, write to earline@prohear.store and we will fix it at the next update.
