PROHEAR Dog Ear Muffs: quick answers
- Protection
- NRR 28 dB on the package. A lab figure: NRR explained shows how OSHA reads it.
- Power
- No battery: passive cups and foam do the work.
- Options

Ear muffs made for dogs, in small, medium and large, with straps over the head and under the chin that hold the cups over the ear base. The cushions are filled with dense acoustic padding.
Measure around the head over the ears and compare with the size chart on the order page. Let your dog wear them for a few calm minutes at a time, days before the storm or the fireworks.
Every dog ear muffs model sits in the PROHEAR range; the numbers on this page come from the model’s own box and spec sheet.

How much noise does the PROHEAR Dog Ear Muffs block?
Its Noise Reduction Rating is 28 dB, measured in a lab. On a real head a muff usually blocks less than the lab figure: OSHA subtracts 7 dB from the NRR when noise is measured in dBA, and NIOSH now recommends checking the protection each wearer actually gets. Our NRR guide walks through both.
How do I pick the size of the PROHEAR Dog Ear Muffs?
It comes in Small, Medium, Large. Measure around the head over the ears and compare with the size chart on the order page. Let the dog wear it for short, calm sessions before a storm or fireworks.
